File promods- def - v198 doesn't go open out ami readjust. Why?

You mean the def-file is corrupt?

Then you can generate a new one on the Download page.

def-v198 doesn't show up in the mod manager. had it for v197. don't know if the problem is on my end or yours

Just re-generate it. The one you downloaded could be corrupt.

Try switching browsers and/or disabling download managers

Hi, sorry to jump in on this thread, but I just noticed a problem when generating .def files, it seems that every now and then, the .def generator creates a zero byte length file, I tried it six times, 3 with RusMap option checked, and 3 without RusMap option, I got 1 zero byte length file with RusMap option, and 1 without, the effect of this is an error dialog unable to read file and of course it does not show up in the mod manager, the strange thing is, that it reports the size as 2,538 KB but if you try to open the generated def.scs file in 7-zip, that's when it reports another unable to read file error.

This is a strange one, could there be a problem in the def generator, or is it corruption during download.

It can happen if you generate many def files in short succession.
Every time a def file is generated it grabs the source file and inserts the new settings. This zipping process takes several seconds.
Then the file is moved to a temporary folder and served for download.

If somehow a new file is triggered before it has moved or zipped up correctly you will either obtain a zero byte file or a file containing an error code.

If the def file looks corrupt, faulty, empty or can't be opened by a ZIP archiver then you should try to download it again.

The whole reason I posted about it now was because I had a look at my game.log.txt file and noticed the subarctic error, so re-downloaded the def files one for my career profile which includes RusMap, and one for my promods only profile which of course doesn't, I also noticed that the non-RusMap def file didn't show in the mod manager.

Just checked something else, it doesn't show up anyway, in order to differentiate between the RusMap and non-RusMap def files I modified the filename to promods-def-v198-no-rusmap.scs for the non-RusMap version, it worked ok with v1.97 but doesn't seem to work with v1.98, was something changed that could cause that?
