That's a figure of speech used in English as well Although it would be more normal to say 'I know x with my eyes closed.'

I've never heard it used that way. The only version of the expression I've heard over here is "that's so easy I could do it with my eyes closed." I've never heard "I could see it with my eyes closed" or anything like that.adgjl wrote:That's a figure of speech used in English as well Although it would be more normal to say 'I like x with my eyes closed.'
Heaven from all creatures hides the book of Fate,
All but the page prescribed, their present state:
From brutes what men, from men what spirits know:
Or who could suffer being here below?

I've edited my post because I used the wrong word, like instead of know
The most common form of the expression is indeed "I can/could do x with my eyes closed", and in the context we were originally discussing the phrase KubaJAM posted is more commonly used, but I've heard it as I wrote it too. Or maybe it's just me
