Will there ever be a point in the future where Promods (or another map creator) Decides to unite the two maps. Like downloads the map of ATS and adds it to the ETS2 map so you can take a ferry from europe to america, and, for example, drive a truck from Rotterdam to Las Vegas? Although this could take YEARS to do, is it even possible to do? and if so, will anyone try to do it?

Might be possible to do, would probably be piracy if it were done though

It shouldn't be piracy if all ETS and ATS DLCs will be mandatory.

True true, there could be a restriction to only be able to use it if you have ALL the map expansions (therefore have paid for both games)

These types of things have already been done in other games mods like Fallout Tale of Two Wastelands, which unites New Vegas and Fallout 3 if you own both without it being piracy. I think the same could be applied for ETS2 and ATS.

It would be interesting to say the least

Good idea, but not easy to make that happen. Combining ATS and ETS2 would require only one game to run it. So it'll be impossible to make the other games' DLC mandatory.

Some say, I'm addicted to ETS2. But then I say. No, it's ProMods, it's a way of life.

Good idea, however, this topic should be discussed with SCS for the possibility of any parallel version of the map. More hands participate, this topic could be realized faster
However, I was thinking about the possibility of driving in Greenland, since it was considered as the part of North America in some real maps, and then from there the map could continue to Canada. This was my opinion about expanding the maps to America. If this happens, perhaps the parallel version of TS would be released immediately
Need a lot of resources though, and also time, but seems promising
