Well calling Istanbul Constantinopole is like calling New York as 'New Amsterdam', Western Australia as 'New Holland' or Beijing as 'Peking'.dalmatian666 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2020 22:08To me I still refer to it as Constantinople, even edited the city def to refer to it as such. Most of coastal modern day turkey still belongs to Greece imho. the greeks controlled the coastline from Adana to Trebizond for nearly 1500 years. Them and the serbs are probably the most hard done by countries today, where both of them have had their traditional homelands annexed bit by bit for decades to centuries in regards to the greeks. but yeah, any history book would would tell you thisdclark12553 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2020 03:07Did you know that Istanbul was historically known as Constantinople?
It was an ancient shipping gateway between Asia and Europe.
History noobs This man was close to restoring the Byzantine Empire and Constantinople, but you don't even mention him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_I_of_Bulgaria
Fun fact: In-game Montana used to be named Ferdinand after him. Could be an easter egg in RttBS merger

City is called İstanbul and it's historic names are "Constantinople" and "Byzantium". I guess there's not much to say.

It might be fun putting 'Ferdinand' as a city name somewhere in Montana However I wouldn't say Ferdinand I was close to restore Byzantium by only taking Macedonia and Thracia (and a bit of Dobrudja)jackalnxt wrote: ↑25 Mar 2020 16:54History noobs This man was close to restoring the Byzantine Empire and Constantinople, but you don't even mention him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_I_of_Bulgaria
