[2.45] game hangs for several minutes on reloading previous saves

Ever since I upgraded from ProMods 2.43 to ProMods 2.45, whenever I reload a previous save, the game hangs for a long time.

I did test on reloading a previous save on vanilla: loading is quick.

I did a clean install of Euro Truck Simulator + ProMods 2.45 (other mods in my install: ProMods ME 2.45, ProMods Trailer and Cabin Pack 1.24, ProMods Cabin Accessory Compatibility Pack 1.10, RusMap 1.92).

After a clean install the game still hangs on loading a previous save. It didn't exhibit this behaviour when last week I was still running ProMods 2.43.

Wondering if the game completely hangs or is just slow to load, I kept the game running when I had accepted the loading of the savegame (instead of logging out of Windows, like I usually do to fix a hang) and it turns out after several minutes the savegame did load, it just takes a long time.

Selecting a previous save goes fine, the game asks confirmation if I really do want to load the save and then when I confirm, the game hangs.

Please let me know if I need to post a dxdiag as well, or if all information you need is in the game.log below.

@Dub Conqueror, it is a known problem with ProMods 2.45. For some reason that we do not understand the game thinks it needs to rebuild the navigation cache when it shouldn't. The work-around for now is to exit the game start it again. Loading from the profile selection screen will not cause a rebuild of the navigation cache in this scenario.

Thanks for letting me know. I figured myself exiting the game then reloading was probably the best workaround. I wish the modders success with hunting the bug down.

How to select previous gameplay in profile selection after exiting the game and restarting

@Jeewedsmani, if you go into your profile's "config.cfg" file (profiles\[numbers and letters]\config.cfg) there is a parameter called "g_force_load_selector". Setting this to "1" will tell the game to always ask you which savegame you want to load when loading your profile.

I have this too. If you wait long enough ( make some coffee), the save game will load with no issues.
