Thanks Bernhard!
Yes, ETS2/ATS are things I keep coming back to. Regarding responses to screenshot posts, I've been posting here since around October 2017 and there were never that many people commenting. I don't mind though, I can see people have taken a look so feel sharing my travels has sense.
Last week I started posting flight sim shots again on Simviation, where I used to hang out from around 2005 -2012. It used to be a very active community with regard to screenshots. Now it's almost completely dead. I think most people just don't find posting comments and replies very entertaining any more, and on Simviation they don't even bother posting screenshots any more. They still seem to LOOK at screenshots though, maybe for inspiration - places to visit, things to try, mods to download. But they don't post comments. Again, I don't mind. I need to take screenshots in order to enjoy playing. Just driving or flying from one place to another is boring for me, I want to explore and find great scenery, take nice 'photos'. And as long as people are at least looking at them it's motivation enough for me to continue. To be honest, commenting and answering comments isn't much fun for me either, I'd rather be driving/flying/exploring/photographing... : )
FF2: Filling in the Suburbs
Great to meet someone on the same wavelength, Bernhard.
Back after a nice holiday, and this time we're touring Oregon - at last! I've seen about 20% of it since I bought ATS because of it back in 2018, so I'm very excited for this tour.
But we'll start off at Dan's HQ in Vegas, like I did in the last thread - SCS have updated it, and I'm eager to tour this new version of the city.
Nice red cab, just like almost 3 years ago - and if you compare the new and old pics you can see the difference in the scenery already. Here's the old set if you want to compare - about 60% down Page 1: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26492
So let's check out the rest of Vegas.
It has a monorail! Awesome. Getting a bit of a Cities: Skylines feel here.
The buildings in Vegas really have a certain presence. Both the content of the city and its position, which is kind in the middle of the American West, make it a great place for a first garage and HQ.
Time for our first job - from Vegas to Winnemucca near the border with Oregon, and then crossing the border to the NW to Lakeview.
The city looks impressive at night, too.
The Western Star is a distinctive truck, kind of old-fashioned and rugged-looking but with modern details.
Getting out of town. We'll skip the trip through the desert to Winnemucca.
After crossing the whole state, we find ourselves waking up on another morning in Winnemucca, ready to cross the border.
Much of Oregon is green and lush, so let's enjoy this stretch of arid desert while it lasts.
Turn-off to Lakeview.
Love how they managed to make these large stretches of uniform landscape without getting ugly repeated tiling patterns most of the time.
What a great place to live.
Oooh, a touch of greenery - a sign of things to come.
Stopped off for some gas and a Dream Drink at this American oasis.
Away from the dreams, back to the dust.
And that's it for today - Oregon will have to wait till next time. Thanks for looking in.

Today, continuing the trip from Winnemucca, Nevada, to Lakeview, Oregon, via Abel.
Spectacular scenery on this part of the route.
What's that I see ahead? Grass? Trees? A cold beer?
Abel, Oregon.
We've arrived.
Got to press on to Lakeview.
Not that way.
Lakeview. Looks like a geyser there on the right.
What a welcome.
Our destination.
Honest.
Next time - Lakeview to Medford via Klamath Falls.
Cheers

Hi again,
Today taking a trip west through green and leafy south Oregon from Lakeview to Medford via Klamath Falls.
Lakeview morning.
Suburbia.
Pickup.
Not sure what this is - a mozzarella farm?
That cowboy sure does get around. His name is Tallman, by the way.
Bear up bison, never say die.
Out of town, next stop Klamath Falls. I visited all three of the places on the list today (Lakeview, Klamath Falls, Medford) during my tour of North California, but deliberately didn't explore them much, so curious to see what's there.
Scenery town.
Lovely.
Passing by the Lost River. Sounds like something from a teenager's home-made D & D campaign.
Klamath Falls - more suburbia.
We're just kind of skirting it today - will be back.
Now to proceed to Medford.
Could this be Lakeview's lake? Don't remember seeing one near Lakeview, just the geyser.
Very nice scenery, glad to have paused to take a look. I followed the trail but there was no Lake in the Woods, hidden out of sight by a sneaky map developer.
Out in the open again.
Arrival in Medford.
Our destination.
That's it for now. Next time, back to the dusty badlands for a bit.
Cheers

Thanks!
Back from another holiday, and time to post some more from Oregon.
Today we're back guess where... yep, Winniemucca in Nevada, ready for another trek across the border into Oregon.
Could this be the last ever visit to Winniemucca? No guarantees.
Today we're pulling a frac tank up to Ontario... the city in Oregon on the border with Idaho, not the Canadian province. That was the turnoff to Lakeview, this time heading north-ish into the most arid part of Oregon.
Heading up to McDermitt.
McDermitt, near the Oregon border.
"Hen Casino".
Now what? Did I win anything?
The next nine shots are from our hot and dusty trip through SE Oregon towards the small settlement of Jordan Valley.
Getting low on fuel. I can see some pumps up ahead. It doesn't look like a regular gas station, but maybe they'll sell me some?
Damn.
Of course, they badly need to weigh my truck. Looks like we can pick up some gas there too. But which to do first? Does it matter? Does anything, in the end, when all is said and done?
Right here the dust segues into sparse grassland. It's a nice moment.
Nearing Jordan Valley. Wait for it...
Oh. Well, that was Jordan Valley.
Grass rising taller now.
Something spooked that there horse. Rattlesnake? Had the windows closed in the cab so it can't have been me.
What the..?? We're leaving Oregon? And you're very welcome, but why? For not asking for gas?
So... this is Idaho.
Okay. A nice agricultural interlude.
Ah, okay, leaving Idaho now. They're not thanking me for anything, I see. So ungrateful.
Oregon welcomes us once more. Good to be back!
Yep, back in Oregon, and nearing the city of Ontario. We'll leave that till next time.
Dan
Hey there, back again...
Another look at that cool bridge near Oregon in Ontario. Or is it the other way round? I'm so confused.
Feels like we're back in 2016.
Dropping off the frac tank at Metaaaalwest.
Ontario's suburbs. Time for a new skin.
Looks really imposing with the military paintjob.
Picking up some new cargo at an Ontario DIY warehouse.
Looks like a bunch of identical trucks leaving in convoy.
But it's not. They're all mine. Mine.
More leafy Ontario suburbs.
Another retro airfield just outside the city limits.
Not too sure what I'm carrying in these trailers. Looks like something from Jazzycat, I guess. I seem to be advertising something. Not my intention, sorry.
Passing through farmland at the start of our journey to Burns.
Moving into wilder regions.
It's a colorful and attractive route.
Passing through the small settlement of Juntura.
Tons of great landscapes.
Nice little rest stop.
Must be nearing Burns by now.
Americans are consumed by a strange obsession - to know the exact weight of trucks. I guess we'll humor them again.
Burns will have to wait till the next post.
Cheers

Today we're kind of lurking around Burns, Oregon.
Approaching Burns.
Arrival.
Time to deliver this massive one-man convoy.
Interesting truck...
On the way to a place to sleep, found this smokestack on its own... okay.
A somewhat strange place indeed.
More Burns - on the way to get a new job.
Another massive, heavy cargo.
We're taking this mammoth load south towards California, but we're going to stop at the Y junction at Mc Dermitt - have already posted shots of the rest.
Tee hee hee.
Quintessential driving in the American west.
More weighing shenanigans at Mc Dermitt.
Let's park up and get a coffee. One of my employees will take it further.
That's all for today. Back to Burns next time.
