Something that bothered me so much all these years. Every time a new ETS2 version is released, we need to wait for the promods team to "update" the mod. When the only thing you need to do is to change one single line of text or better yet, remove it completely. If they could remove that line, we could use promods all the time , no matter what new version of ETS2 is released.
Why at this point this is not done??? it is really worthy to go and update just a single line every time? i just dont get it lol.
Why not just remove the version info from the manifest file??

You really think that's all we do? - You might want to consider the fact that most game updates causes the current version of ProMods to crash if it were to be used on the new version. When SCS updates the game any number of things can change that cause ProMods to start crashing. The lighting update where most custom models broke. A recent SCS update broke all the in game fonts that we add. SCS will often change how def files are formatted. this list could go on.
Think about all the other ETS2 map mods around. They either get new updates when SCS releases a new version or if the map has been 'abandoned' someone might create a 'fix' mod for it. The fact of the matter is that SCS updates regularly break ProMods.
We have no way of telling if an update from SCS will break ProMods or not until said update actually come out, therefor it is impossible to guess if (for example) ProMods 2.62 will work on ets2 v1.46 until the open beta releases (which it now has). If we were to exclude the line in the def file that locks ProMods 2.62 to ETS2 1.45, and the 1.46 update does cause the ProMods to break, we would be overwhelmed with people complaining that the mod crashes. We lock ProMods to certain game versions in order to stop this from occuring.
