I wasn't thinking about ferries, but if they do count, aren't there some ferries going from Italy that could be included to get more connections? Although it's not a perfect solution, it isn't more of a "ferry simulator" than the ferry between Denmark and Norway?
If we build one city with only one connection, we immediately will get questions like "why didn't you build connection X or Y) without having proper defence to back our choices.
I know, and that's exactly why I expressed my view, to show that there are different opinions on the issue. Perhaps it wasn't a good idea, if it only makes it harder for you to decide
