Jesus..okay I will stop making a racetrack I'm scared
EDIT
Here is my little 1 hour progress, I guess it is alright but I will make only Top Gear Racetrack, not entire Dunsfold Airfield. What you think about this little thingy made by me? (I know ETS2-USER is doing great job, but I'm trying so hard, because I don't use Map Editor perfectly, thanks )

Hey, it's an exercise and not a competition or about giving up 'cause someone has already started You always have to think you can do it better
Nice beginning considering it's only been an hour with hardly any mapping knowledge

You are absolutely right -
I tested -
With my new Actros with trailer I did 1 lap in 1.23.99
With New Actros, but without a trailer in 1.13.46
Here is my other little detail progress -
1. The Finish/Start line with the Stig.
In Real Life -https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.11868 ... 6656?hl=en
In my map - I know the Red car is a Vauxhall(Opel), not a KIA and the Stig is near finish line with BMW,not a Mercedes. Yeah..Other details like buildings or other models aren't finished!!
2. Near the last corner
In Real Life - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.11850 ... 6656?hl=en
In my map - (Have a very close look and compare it)
3. Last corner
In Real Life - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.11868 ... 6656?hl=en
In my map - What you think guys?

That landscape looks quite impressive. The variation betweenAll the objects has been applied greatly! You can talk for sure about a kind of harmony.ETS2-User wrote:Well I got some early WIP from when I started to build a connection from Portsmouth some time ago but I returned to rebuilding Ljubljana for Project Balkans... maybe some day I will continue it... here are some pics from what I got:
Stopping is liek giving up. Son;t feel scared by comparing your, maybe, first work in the editor. This is exactly why weve started the academy! The way how you solved the basic track layout is good, and I'm happy to see that there are many gaps so I can see clearly how you've built it up. The basic is good, now you are ready for the next step, filling up the gaps. This can be done in 2 ways.DeusHorizon wrote:Jesus..okay I will stop making a racetrack I'm scared
EDIT
1. The Bezier patch
2. A landscape element
The bezier patch is nothing else than a piece of grass which you can srink or extend and give some hills. With the bezier patch it is only a mapper of placing an object like that on the same height of the asphalt object, resize it to track size and then let it sink until it is under the road sureface, same can be done with an terrain item. It is in the same section as the road options, you only have to select the terrain radio, make sure your landscape element has no trees spawn on it (vegetation options) and make it long enough by adding enough quads, Then let it sink until it is under road surface and the landscape has been filled.Once you;ve done that please show some pictures again so I may give some improvement tips on it and/ or explain the next step what to do.
I've also seen you've placed lines etc already. These are kind of details you need to keep for the final staage. First make the basic landscape as awesome as possible with as least assets as possible, for now it is filling gaps and smoothen up some edges maybe. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask them here.
Looks good, but I have a few things
1. Landscape element on the side. It is good you seperate the track from the rest of the map, but it is situated in a relative flat landscape, try to make the hill less steep, ( right after the hill type there's a number, change it to, for example 0.3).
2. Detailing. You have eye for detail, but there are also a few thigns I miss like bushes, I know there aren't any bushes IRL but still make them and lower them that it looks like grass
3. Your grass vegetation has gaps, better use no vegetation than half vegetation, can be easily done by grass_ger_main for example and change it to grass_ger_main_nograss.
If you have done that you can start at the carpark on the approaching road, since the circuit is also connected to the main road network.
But good work!! You are on the right track!! Keep it up!!
